January 28, 2016

ST. LOUIS - Windy City Groove head coach/general manager Handy Johnson has announced that reserve center Alvin Brown has signed a contract with a team in Mexico and will be departing the team and the country today.

Brown played in all four games for the Groove this season, averaging 4.4 points and 12.0 minutes per game.

"Alvin is a great young man, he was a great acquisition for us." said Johnson.  "He's the prototype of today's center--athletic, with a great wingspan, and can play inside and out.  The Windy City Groove family wishes him great success."

Pontiac 66ers general manager Mark Myre also announced today that Jake Anderson will be leaving to play in Mongolia.  Anderson is the first player from the 66ers to sign a foreign contract.  Anderson played in the MPBA last season with the Gateway Steam, and then for the Chicago Bulls during training camp last fall.

Brown and Anderson become the 23rd and 24th players to advance from the MPBA to a higher domestic or foreign contract since the league began play a little over a year ago.
