Groove's Cooksey named Player of the Week

Windy City guard scores 68 points in two days

After leading his team in scoring in a pair of weekend victories, Dion Cooksey of the Windy City Groove has been named the Player of the Week in the Midwest Professional Basketball Association.

Cooksey recorded the MPBA’s highest single-game scoring total of the season with 39 points in a 147-144 overtime win on Sunday in Pontiac. Cooksey turned in that performance the day after registering 29 points in a 112-110 triumph over the Chicago Blues. The 6-10, 178-pound guard played collegiately at Youngstown State University.
