One of the top scorers in the Midwest Professional Basketball Association has been named as the league’s Player of the Week.
Michael Rogers led the Champaign Swarm in scoring in two losses to the Pontiac 66ers, recording 33 points and two rebounds in a 135-128 decision on Saturday in Pontiac followed by a 22-point, eight-rebound effort on Monday in Champaign.
Rogers, a 6-6, 240-pound forward from Valparaiso University, is second in the MPBA in scoring with 28.3 points per game and leads in field goals with 31.
