MPBA releases 2016 schedule

Slate opens with defending champ Swarm at home

 

ST. LOUIS - The Midwest Professional Basketball Association has released its 2016 schedule.  The league's second season will open on Saturday, January 9, 2016, as the defending champions, the Champaign Swarm, host the Windy City Groove at Parkland College.

The expansion Pontiac 66ers will open at home on Saturday, January 10 against the Gateway Steam, and newcomers Lima Express see their first MPBA action that same day against the St. Louis RvierSharks.

The league will play a double-header on Monday, January 18, which is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, as the RiverSharks host the  Steam and the Swarm host the expansion 66ers.

All but Pontiac will participate in two double-headers at Bloomington's U.S. Cellular Coliseum, scheduled for Sunday, January 24 and Sunday, March 13.

The 2016 season will conclude with the championship tournament in Bloomington on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2.
