May 24, 2015

ZHENGZHOU, China - The Bloomington Flex upped their record to 4-2 on their exhibition tour of China with a second win in as many nights over the She Dian Stars, 81-67, in front of a standing-room-only crowd at Zhong Yuan Institute of Technology.

The Flex raced out to a 24-13 after the first period, but after Fabyon Harris scored the first bucket of the second quarter, Bloomington went more than six-and-a-half minutes without a field goal and allowed She Dian to take a brief 29-27 lead with 3:36 to play in the half.

Bryant Austin stopped the bleeding with a three-pointer a moment later and the Flex never trailed again, taking a 36-33 lead into halftime.

The third quarter was all Flex, as they outscored the Stars 26-18 in the period on the strength of five three-pointers. C. J. Hampton banged home threes on back-to-back possessions with 1:40 left in the third to give Bloomington its largest lead to that point at 13 points, 59-46. The frame would end with the Flex up 62-51.

Hampton ballooned the lead to 19 points at 75-56 with his fourth trey on the night with 5:52 left. Tre Johnson added three highlight-reel dunks, putting on a show for the packed-in fans.

Justin Bocot and Bryant Austin led the Flex with 14 points each. Hampton netted 12, Harris had 11, and Johnson chipped in ten, as every Flex player that saw action scored at least four points.

The Flex next take on the Cuban National Team, in Yang Zhong on Tuesday, looking to take a 2-1 tour series lead.
