DAFENG, China - Playing their third game in three nights after flying 9,000 miles, the Bloomington Flex failed again in finding a consistent offensive rhythm, falling to the Cuban National Team 73-64 at the Olympic Sports Complex.
Former Flex coach A. J. Guyton, who is coaching the team on this trip, was unable to join the team until tonight--he arrived in the middle of the first quarter after flying into Shanghai from Chicago and then taking a four-hour taxi ride directly to the arena.
But his presence could not help the Flex from the free throw line, where they shot just 44% as a team (14-of-32).
Justin Bocot led the Flex with 16 points, while Carl Montgomery chipped in ten.
The Flex will have a chance to even the score against the Cubans on Tuesday, as the two teams will play again in the city of Nanjing.
Bloomington's record fell to 1-2 on the exhibition tour, while the Cuban National Team raised its record to 2-1.
