Bocot ties, wins game with less than ten seconds after trailing by 17

May 15, 2015

ZHUJI, China--After falling behind by as many as 17 points, the Bloomington Flex, playing in their first-ever international game, pulled off a stunning come from behind victory over the Zhenjiang Lions 81-80 at Jiyang Sports Complex.

The Flex scored the first basket of the game, but then had some difficulty adjusting to the international style of play and officiating.

Bloomington trailed by double digits for most of the game, until they finally found their stride and outscored the Lions 23-9 in the fourth quarter.

Former Bloomington High School star and newly-minted Midwest Professional Basketball Association Most Valuable Player Justin Bocot tied the game at 80 with a 3-pointer with 8.0 seconds left, and then won it with a free throw with 1.5 to play.

Bocot led all scorers with 26 points. Harry Marshall and CJ Hampton each had 13, and A.J. Hardeman added 12.

The Flex play in the second game of the trip-opening tournament Saturday night against a team from Serbia.
