Brooks leads with 31

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Riversharks defeated the Chicago Force Saturday afternoon 120-94 at the St. Charles Family Arena. The win keeps the RiverSharks just one game behind the first-place Champaign Swarm, whom they play tomorrow at 4 p.m.

The RiverSharks had big games from Jerold Brooks and Marcus Goode. Brooks had 31 points and seven rebounds going 6-of-9 from behind the arc.  Goode had a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds.  Other key players were Harry Marshall, whom the RiverSharks added just a couple days earlier, with 14 points and three steals to extend the RiverSharks’ three-game winning streak.

The Chicago Force got a big game from Marvin Lee.  The Emporia State alum had 26 points on 7-for-19 shooting.  He went 3-for-5 from behind the arc to go along with five rebounds and two steals. Darius Smith and Antione Ware also added 15 points each for the Force.  The Force shot 35 percent as a team.
The RiverSharks big men were just too much for the Force.  The Force were outrebounded 46-37 behind Keith DeWitt’s 12 rebounds, Goode’s 11 and Terry Evans’ eight.

Both teams are back at it tomorrow. The St. Louis RiverSharks will host the Champaign Swarm at the St. Charles Family Arena, and the Chicago Force will travel to Bloomington to take on the Flex at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.  Both games tip off at 4 p.m.
