CHICAGO - With a chance to move up to fourth place in the MPBA, the Windy City Groove jumped on the Gateway Steam early, only to lose their lead and the game 129-121 at the Kroc Center in Chicago.  Gateway (5-9) won its fourth in a row, while Windy City (2-12) dropped its seventh straight.

The Groove jumped out to a 23-12 advantage thanks to hot shooting from Deveon Jenkins and Lavante Douglas.  Later in the 2nd quarter, Tarvin Gaines put on a shooting clinic and got the Steam to a 59-58 advantage.

Teams traded the lead before the Steam, behind great inside play from Will Kirksey, took an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter.  The Groove got as close as four in the fourth quarter, but Gaines and Kirksey proved to be too much down the stretch.

Gaines led all scorers (5-9) with 48 points, while Kirksey had 21.  Deveon Jenkins led the Groove (2-12) with 27, Levante Douglas had 24, and Nate Fuqua dropped in 21.
