Steam collect second win despite 40 by Chicago's Adams

Six score in double figures for Gateway

ST. CHARLES, MO – The Gateway Steam used a collective team effort  to get past the visiting Chicago Force Sunday by the score of 96-88, as the Steam had six players score in double figures.  The win improved the Steam’s season record to 2-9 while the Force dropped to 3-8. 

Will Kirksey led the Steam with 19 points, matching his season high, set February 5 against St. Louis. Lee Fisher and Terrell Williams followed Kirksey with 15 and 14 points respectively.  Chris Babbitt led the Steam in rebounds with nine while also adding 11 points. 

Tremell Adams of the Force scored 40 points in the losing effort.  Chicago’s Brandon Price registered the game’s only double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Steam return to action on Thursday, February 26th as they host the Windy City Groove.  The Force also play against on the 26th as they travel to Champaign to take on the Swarm.  The Steam/Groove game is the first of two at Family Arena on Thursday, as the St. Louis RiverSharks will host the Bloomington Flex following the conclusion of the Steam and Groove.
