Fines, suspensions levied after Feb. 12 altercation

MPBA Board of Directors issues final disciplinary measures

 

February 15, 2015

After reviewing all available video and deliberating at length, the Midwest Professional Basketball Association has decided upon the following penalties for the incident which took place at the Bloomington Flex/Champaign Swarm game at U.S. Cellular Coliseum on February 12, 2015:

Champaign Swarm

Avery Smith: 1 game suspension and $100 fine (instigation/escalation of incident)

Keith Biggers: 1 game suspension and $100 fine (leaving bench area during altercation)

Jordan Walker: 1 game suspension and $100 fine (leaving bench area during altercation)

Arnold Louis: 1 game suspension and $100 fine (leaving bench area during altercation; should Louis return to MPBA, penalties will still be in effect)

Rashard McGill: $50 (technical foul)

Head Coach Chris Daleo will be issued a written reprimand for failure to control his bench.

Champaign will be allowed to stagger their suspensions.

Bloomington Flex

Trey Blue: 1 game suspension and $100 fine (escalation of incident) 

Chris Colvin: $100 (instigation of incident) 

Asst. Coach Mike Mokeski: 1 game suspension and $100 fine (failure to act as peacemaker/contact with player)

Fabyon Harris: no penalty (inadvertently issued technical foul) 

Technical Fouls unrelated to incident

Carl Mitchell $50

Livan Pyfrom $50

Justin Bocot $50

Head Coach Carlnel Wiley – $50 

Carlnel Wiley will also be issued a written reprimand for his comments about the officiating in the Bloomington newspaper the next day, but no fine will be issued.  The comments were not inflammatory, but public comment from coaches, players, or team staff about the officiating will not be tolerated.
