ST. LOUIS – The Windy City Groove’s Christopher Dillard has been named the Midwest Professional Basketball Association’s Player of the Week for the week ending January 19, the league announced today.

Dillard scored 24 points and pulled down 19 rebounds in a one-point loss to the Chicago Force on January 15.  On the season, Dillard is averaging 20.0 points and 13.5 rebounds per game for the Groove (1-1).

The games on January 15 saw a number of notable performances:

Derrick McDonald of the Force (1-2) scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the same game as Dillard.

Last week’s Player of the Week, Justin Bocot of the Bloomington Flex, scored 31 points against the St. Louis RiverSharks (3-2), the first time in team history a player scored 30 or more points in three consecutive games.  His teammate Anthony Slack dominated the paint in that game, scoring 21 points—8 of which came on dunks—and collecting 9 rebounds.  The Flex are 2-1.

And Mark St. Fort of the Champaign Swarm scored 17 points and tallied 10 rebounds against the Gateway Steam (1-4) to lead the Swarm to a 2-0 record.
