ST. LOUIS – Justin Bocot of the Bloomington Flex has been named the Midwest Professional Basketball Association’s first-ever Player of the Week after back-to-back 30-point scoring efforts, for the week ending January 11.

Bocot scored 30 in the Flex’s season opener against the St. Louis RiverSharks on January 4 in a 113-109 loss, and followed that up with 30 more in a 122-83 win over the Gateway Steam on January 11 in the team’s home opener.

The former Southern Illinois guard has also tallied 12 rebounds in two games, for a 6.0 per-game average.

The Champaign Swarm’s Arnold Louis earns honorable mention honors for his effort against the RiverSharks in the Swarm’s franchise-inaugural game on January 11, a 113-100 win.

Louis scored 26 points and pulled down 18 rebounds in the effort.

The RiverSharks’ Keith DeWitt also had a very strong week, averaging 17.2 points per game, including 30 in the season opener against Gateway on January 2, and averaging 8.2 rebounds per game over a four-game stretch that saw his team go 3-1.
