Ten vets, six newcomers look to join club that went 19-0 in 2014

BLOOMINGTON—With a new season approaching and new opponents looming in a new league, it’s only appropriate the Bloomington Flex will open training camp on the first day of a new year with ten veterans and six newcomers earning invitations.  The team opens Midwest Professional Basketball League play on Sunday, January 4 against the St. Louis RiverSharks at Family Arena in suburban St. Louis.

The ten veterans invited to camp include four starters: guard Chris McClellan, post players Terrence Green and Matt Salley, and guard/forward Brandon McGee.  Significant contributors Latrell Alford, Chris Singletary, who set the Flex single-season scoring record in 2014 at 23.0 points per game, former Illinois State standout Anthony Slack, and Bloomington High School star Justin Bocot also return for a team that went 19-0 overall in 2014.

Also invited to camp are forwards Josiah Whitehead and Ray Miller, both of whom saw significant time with the Flex in 2013.

The newcomers include Santino Clay, who was among the final cuts on the Flex in 2014, Chris Colvin, Xavier Jones, Fabyon Harris, Quincy Bethea-Starks and Brad Carroll.  Jones, Harris, Bethea-Starks and Carroll earned invitations based on their performance at either the MPBA combine or Flex open tryout.
