ST. LOUIS – Fans in Eureka now have a face to go with their new team’s name, as the club has unveiled its logo and colors in preparation for its inaugural season beginning in January.

The colors for the expansion Eureka Blaze of the Midwest Professional Basketball Association are red, yellow and black, with accents of orange and white, and the logo features a flaming basketball to the left of the team name.

The logo was designed by MPBA Chief Creative Officer Joyce Thomas, who has created most of the logos for the league and its teams.

“Joyce did an amazing job making it a unique look,” said Craig Fata, associate commissioner and chief communications officer for the MPBA. “You obviously expect something fire-related with a name like Blaze, and so you worry about coming too close to the Miami Heat logo, but her take on the flaming basketball concept is top notch.”

A.J. Guyton, associate commissioner and director of basketball personnel, continues to lead the search for the team’s first coach.

The Eureka Blaze begin their inaugural season in January 2017. The team’s schedule is expected to be released in the coming weeks.

The logo can be seen on the MPBA website, thempba.com, and on the team’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
