British team "learned a lot" from experience

May 4, 2016

CHICAGO – The Chicago Blues and the Midwest Professional Basketball Association had a chance to build some international relations at the Kroc Center Wednesday, as the reigning MPBA champs hosted the British 4 Regiment Army Air Corps team for an international friendly exhibition.

The final score…didn’t matter. It was about building relationships.

“I really appreciate that they came here and played us,” said Rick Pryor, head coach for the Chicago Blues. “I know it was tough for them, but we hope they were able to learn some things. That’s what these kinds of games are about, especially at this level.”

“We’ve learned a lot,” said Corporal McNeil Kansonkho, head coach for the AAC team. “There were some of our players who had never played this kind of competitive basketball before.  We learned a lot. [The Blues’] teamwork was incredible.”

The AAC team will continue the rest of their nine-day Chicago-area tour with games against U.S. Military teams and collegiate R.O.T.C. units.
