CHICAGO – Two-time University of Kansas All-American Sherron Collins is leaving the Chicago Blues to sign with the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada.

The Chicago native, who starred at Crane High School, was averaging 19.0 points and 3.8 assists over six games for the Blues, with a single-game high of 37 points on February 21 against the Lima Express.

“We are honored to have had a player of Sherron’s magnitude playing for us,” said Blues head coach Rick Pryor.  “He provided leadership for our younger players, helping them understand what it takes to become a professional athlete.  He will be missed, but we wish him well in all of his future endeavors.”

Collins was a McDonald’s All-American at Crane, and earned second-team Consensus All-American honors in 2009 at Kansas as a junior, and then was named a first-team Consensus All-American as a senior in 2010.  He joined the Chicago Blues on January 21 after playing for the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League in 2014-15.

Collins is the 16th MPBA player to move overseas since the start of the 2016 season on January 9, and the 36th overall to advance since the league began play in January of 2015.
