ST. LOUIS – John Spezia, head coach and general manager of the Champaign Swarm, informed league Chief Operating Officer Steven A. Zeller Wednesday morning that he would be leaving the team to pursue other interests, effective immediately.

Assistant Coach Matt Neaville has taken over as interim head coach.  Swarm principal investor Kevin Applebee has taken over as general manager.

“We’d like to thank John for everything he’s done for the league since it was founded a year and a half ago,” said Zeller.  “He was instrumental in bringing key personnel and concepts to the league as it was being formed.  We wish him the best.”
