Lima evens record with road win over Swarm

Helton scores 27, Meyer 24 to lead Express

CHAMPAIGN, Illinois – The Lima Express used a strong fourth quarter to pull away from the Champaign Swarm 102-92 behind another big game by James Helton.

Champaign’s Michael Rogers scored the first six points of the game, and the Swarm ended the first quarter up 24-23.  Lima gained control in the second as Kyle Meyer finished the half with 14 points, staking the Express to a 48-40 lead at intermission.

The Swarm outscored the Express 27-19 in the third to send the game to the fourth tied at 67.

The Swarm looked to be taking control in the final period, but with 1:08 remaining, the Express regained the lead and would not give it up again.

Helton led all scorers with 27 points, while Meyer finished with 24.  Rogers, the reigning MPBA Player of the Week, finished with 24 for Champaign, while Oliver McGlade had 19 points and seven assists.

Lima upped its record to 2-2, while Champaign fell to 0-4.
