The Pontiac 66ers used a balanced scoring attack to push their Midwest Professional Basketball Association-best record to 3-0 with a 125-97 win over the Champaign Swarm on a special Martin Luther King, Jr. Day matinee Monday in Champaign.

Pontiac led from the start, and stayed ahead until the Swarm tied the game at 22 late in the first quarter.  The 66ers then grabbed a pair of quick baskets to finish the opening period up 26-22.

Pontiac steadily increased the lead through the second quarter, taking a 54-39 lead at the half.

The third quarter saw the 66ers push the lead to 85-65, as the Swarm offense, which shot 39% from the floor on the night, continued to struggle.

The 66ers didn’t let up in the fourth, outscoring the hosts 40-30 in the final frame.

Seven players for Pontiac scored in double figures, led by Jeremy Marseille and Alfonzo Houston, who each had 19 points.  Marcus Hammonds added 17 points and eleven rebounds.
