ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis RiverSharks have defeated the Gateway Steam 119-99 at Center St. Louis in suburban Afton, Missouri.

The win means the RiverSharks will tie the Bloomington Flex atop the MPBA standings as regular-season co-champions with a 16-4 record, but the RiverSharks hold the head-to-head tiebreaker advantage over the Flex, and so St. Louis will be the number one overall seed.

Jerrold Brooks led all scorers with 30 points for St. Louis.  He was one of five RiverSharks scoring in double figures.  Keith DeWitt had 19 rebounds to go along with his 19 points and five blocked shots.  DeWitt's 40 rebounds in his last two games earned him the league's rebounding crown, with 215 total rebounds and a 10.8 per-game average.

Will Kirksey led the Steam with 21 points.  Brandon Goss and Christopher Williams each had double-doubles, with Goss tallying 14 points and 11 rebounds and notching 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Steam end the regular season at 5-15.

The RiverSharks will play the Steam in the first game of the MPBA Semi-Finals at 5:00 p.m. C.D.T. at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Illinois.  The Flex will then play the third-seeded Champaign Swarm at 8:00 p.m. C.D.T.

A quirk in the schedule means the RiverSharks and Steam will play each other for the third time in a row, the fifth time overall.

The MPBA Championship Game will take place Friday at 7:00 p.m. C.D.T. in Bloomington.

All three games will be available to view live, in high definition and free of charge on the MPBA website.
