D-League pick posts three double-doubles in three games

March 31, 2015

ST. LOUIS – After posting three consecutive double-doubles, Marcus Goode of the St. Louis RiverSharks has been named the Midwest Professional Basketball Association Player of the Week for the week ending March 29, 2015.

                    In three wins, Goode posted games of 17 points/11 rebounds/3 blocks, 24 points/11 rebounds, and 31 points/12 rebounds/7 blocks.

“Marcus had a big week for us when we were shorthanded,” said RiverSharks head coach Al Grushkin.  “He’s a great guy, a good teammate, and a heck of a player.  If he keeps working hard, hopefully, some great things await him.  He truly is a pleasure to coach,” Grushkin said.

Goode was selected by the Erie BayHawks of the National Basketball Development League (NBA D-League) in the fall of 2014, but injured his hand after playing in only one game.  He then joined the RiverSharks on February 18.

Goode’s teammate, guard Jerrold Brooks, also warranted strong consideration for the weekly honor.  In the same three games, Brooks posted games of 22 points/5 rebounds/4 steals, 25 points/11 rebounds, and 31 points (on 6-of-9 three-pointers)/7 rebounds.

Tarvin Gaines of the Gateway Steam also had a fantastic week.  In three games, Gaines had games of 37 points/14 rebounds, 34 points/9 rebounds, and 21 points.
