ST. LOUIS - An impending winter storm that is expected on Sunday to dump up to six inches of snow, followed up by freezing rain and ice, on the St. Louis area has forced the Midwest Professional Basketball Association to postpone the doubleheader scheduled for that day at Family Arena in suburban St. Charles, Missouri.

The St. Louis RiverSharks were scheduled to host the Windy City Groove at 1:00 p.m., and the Gateway Steam were scheduled to host the Champaign Swarm at 4:00 p.m.

"Because of the forecast conditions and the potential hazardous travel in St. Louis and southern Illinois, the management of Family Arena and the MPBA have decided to postpone Sunday's games," said commissioner Ed Schumer.

"The safety of our fans, players, staff and officials is always our first priority," Schumer said.

The games have been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 25.
