ST. LOUIS – The largest website in the world of its kind, with a database of more than 360,000 players from around the world and coverage of thousands more international teams and leagues, has begun coverage of the Midwest Professional Basketball Association, the league announced today.

Eurobasket.com covers more than 400 leagues around the world, and is widely recognized as the go-to online destination for scouts, agents, players and fans wanting more information about international results and transactions.

“Getting recognized by Eurobasket in such a short period of time shows what can happen when you do things the right way,” said Ed Schumer, Commissioner/CEO of the MPBA.

Teams and players in the MPBA—and the league itself—are now in a searchable database that tracks the careers and statistics of players, as well as records team and league results from season to season.

“We’ve accomplished everything we expected to and said we would so far,” said Schumer.  “Our games are being played in great venues, they’re being live-streamed in high definition for free, we’ve got top-level officiating, and we’ve put together a website that’s like no other in the minor league basketball space, featuring comprehensive statistics, rosters and news updates.”

“And we’re less than two weeks into our inaugural season,” Schumer added.

Eurobasket.com began posting results and news just prior to last weekend’s games.  MPBA media relations staff will serve as correspondents for league- and team-related news articles.

Eurobasket.com’s coverage of the MPBA can be found at http://www.usbasket.com/mpba/basketball.asp.
